Eco Carnival

Ever woke up in the morning, and decided to make a difference? Ever wanted to contribute something to mother nature, who has provided all of us with so much? Ever wondered how one goes about doing all of the aforementioned things?

WE, MEMBERS OF THE TOYOTA ECO RANGERS CLUB OF SRI AMAN, ARE HERE TO SOLVE YOUR DILEMMA.

On the 11th of November, SMK (P) Sri Aman will be holding an Eco Carnival, the first of its kind in our school. Admission to the carnival is completely free, and open to the general public. In fact, everything about the carnival is free, except for purchases made at the booths selling food and other items. Even then, those who bring their own food containers get attractive discounts on their food, and contribute marks to their respective sports houses. GO YELLOW!

The theme of this carnival is “Sustainable Living-Towards A Cleaner and Greener World” while it's objectives are to:

•       Raise awareness on the importance of conserving and preserving the environment among students as well as the community
•       Build awareness on the factors relating to climate change and biodiversity loss, how they are inter-related and linked to human activities
•       Raise awareness on the need to change mind sets and human habits that lead to these environmental problems and how we can change our lifestyle to reduce the impact of human activities on the environment.

We strongly believe that through our carnival, we would be able to successfully achieve all our objectives because well, as Adidas put it, impossible is nothing.

The following is the rationale of our carnival:
We are all feeling the effects of a warmer world, erratic and unpredictable weather patterns, loss of biodiversity, lower agricultural yields, natural disasters, dwindling of global fish stocks and the list does not come to an end. These are the impacts of global warming and climate change brought about by human activities.

Under the guise development, the world produces and consumes more than ever before. We need to change our lifestyle to combat global warming. We need to find new ways of making a living and adopt a lifestyle which is more sustainable without bringing destruction to Mother Nature.

SMK (P) Sri Aman has organized this Eco Carnival as a social responsibility to encourage everyone to opt for a “Sustainable Living-Towards A Cleaner and Greener World '.
