About the Ember Window Cleaner

The Ember Window Cleaner is among the Green Technologies successfully developed by students of SMK (P) Sri Aman. It was entered in the annual Innovation and Creativity Expo organized by the University of Malaya, and managed to win a Silver Medal for the school. Made out of garbage enzyme, not only does it not contain any harmful chemicals, it also releases a kind of gas which can repair the hole in the ozone layer. When used to clean windows, it is proven that the Ember Window Cleaner cleans more effectively than commercial window cleaners. It is also a lot more cost-efficient, and reduces environmental pollution.

Much research and careful planning was involved in the creation of the Ember Window Cleaner. One of the experiments were conducted to test the effectiveness of the Ember Window Cleaner compared to commercially-available window cleaners.

The findings of this experiment proved that the Ember Window Cleaner cleans windows more effectively than commercial window cleaners.

On top of that, many experiments were carried out to determine which scent should be used to make give the Ember Window Cleaner a pleasant scent.

These were some of the scents we experimented with, prior to discovering the perfect scents.

Finally, we decided that we wanted our Ember Window Cleaner to smell of lime, ‘bangun-bangun’, and pandan.

The Ember Window Cleaner is truly a positive step taken by students towards making the environment a cleaner, greener place. Mother Nature must be thoroughly appeased :)

About the Sri Aman Composter

C1

The Sri Aman Composter is a machine that not only makes the composting process faster and easier than the traditional method of preparing compost, it also increases the compost yields of our school. The Sri Aman Composter is capable of carrying out all the processes involved in making compost, such as, cutting, mixing all the materials and even storing, all in one handy machine. This machine is mobile which makes it easier to collect the waste at the source. The design of the machine also provides good aeration.

Using the Sri Aman Composter to prepare compost is far less time-consuming, involves less work, is more convenient, produces more yield, and above all, is more efficient that preparing compost using the traditional method.

OLD METHOD (MANUAL)
ASPECTS
NEW METHOD (MACHINE)
SLOWER
Takes longer time to finish as it involves a lot of manual work like chopping.

TIME
FASTER
Takes faster to finish because the machine already has a blade that will chop the waste into small pieces.
MORE WORK
A lot of work is involved because we have to exert ourselves when we chop the vegetable and fruit waste.

WORK
LESS WORK
Involves less work because the machine does it all, i.e. chopping and mixing.
LESS CONVENIENT
We require many apparatus such as a chopping knife, chopping board, buckets and a big basket with holes.

CONVENIENCE
MORE COVENIENT
The machine already contains a blade for chopping. It also doubles up as a basket for the maturing of the compost heap.
LESS YIELD
We produce fewer yields as we have to make the compost in big batches.

YIELD
MORE YIELD
Since the machine already doubles up as a basket to store the compost heap, we produce more yield.
LESS EFFICIENT
A lot of manual work is done, and more man-power is required for just one batch of compost.

EFFICIENCY
MORE EFFICIENT
The machine does it all. Therefore, less man-power is required for one batch of compost.
