Garbage Enzyme...

is a complex solution produced by fermentation of fresh kitchen waster (fruits and vegetables dregs), sugar (brown sugar, jiggery or molasses sugar) and water. It is dark brown and has a strong sweet sour fermented scent. Garbage enzyme is a multipurpose liquid and its applications covers household, agriculture, animal husbandry, etc. Garbage enzyme is developed by Dr. Rosukon from Thailand. She has been actively involved enzyme research for more than 30 years and encourages people to make garbage enzyme at home to ease global warming.

Change Climate

From day one you start making garbage enzyme, its catalyses process will release ozone gas (O3). O3 can reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere and heavy metal that traps heat in the cloud. Hence heat can be released from the Earth, reducing greenhouse and global warming effects.
Enzyme converts ammonia to nitrate (NO3), a natural hormone and nutrient for plants. Meanwhile it converts carbon dioxide to carbonate (CO3) which is beneficial to sea plant and marine life.

How to Make Bio Enzyme

Black sugar is needed for making garbage enzyme. Brown or any raw unprocessed sugar can also be used but never use white sugar.

Kitchen waste is another ingredient used for the production of garbage enzyme. Leftover cooked food from meals like vegetables is usable too but rinse off any gravy or sauces from them first before using. Never use any kind of meat! Fruit skins should be taken from fruits like apple, orange, pineapple, pear, watermelon, grape, lemon, guava but don't use durians!

An example: Add 300g of sugar + 900g of fruit skins + 3000g of water and mix well in a 5000cc plastic bottle and cap tightly. Keep in a cool dry place at room temperature. Release the gases formed once a day for the first month. Make sure it is re-capped tightly each time after the gas release. For the 2nd and 3rd months, only release any gases if necessary. Sometimes, there is a white layer on the surface of the enzyme solution during fermentation. Should worms appear in your enzyme solution, don't panic. Add in a handful of sugar, mix well and cap the bottle tightly. They will disappear overnight!

These bottles contain kitchen waste with sugar and water. Fermentation will take place in the bottles for 3 months. Then after filtration and removal of the residue, garbage enzyme is obtained. The residue can be used again for a new batch of production by adding fresh garbage. The residue can also be dried, then blended and buried in the ground as a fertilizer.

These bottles of garbage enzyme are ready for dilution with water to be used.

A Brief Introduction to Sri Aman's Eco Drum Circle

Sri Aman's Eco Drum Circle was conceived on the 20th of October, with the initial purpose of performing during our Eco Carnival. Their performance was a success, and they managed to get offers to perform during other events, such as Anugerah Hijau's closing ceremony. Consisting of 13 members, members of the Eco Drum Circle utilize anything and everything that produces a sound as their instruments and it has worked out perfectly thus far. These things include biscuit tins, washing boards, unwanted bits of wooden sticks, pails, buckets, and even plastic bottles filled with green beans. With the dedication and perseverance of the members, the Eco Drum Circle hopes to achieve greater success in the future

A Greeting From Our Project Manager

Hello! I’m Farhanah and I’m the project manager for the Toyota Eco Ranger club of SMK (P) Sri Aman. I’m the person who plans how the organization of the club works, on top of making sure that everyone does their work. I also act as a go-between for the members and the teachers. Besides that, I will think of new ways on improving the club, thus aiding the environment.

This blog will tell you everything there is to know about our club and the environment. Our mission is to take the first step towards saving the environment as well as give ideas and suggestions on how to go about doing it to the community. The blog has numerous sections to be read, including our club activities, facts about plants that we have planted and even articles on the latest environmental issues, tips, and developments.

I personally hope that our club can make the world a better place and also succeed in educating people around the world to save the earth. Greetings from the Head of Documentation

Hi! I’m Atikah and I’m the Head of Documentation. I’m the person in charge of writing letters, proposals, sponsorship appeals on top of taking attendance during meetings. There are a few other heads under me who are in charge of their respective segments. There are:

·       Head of Design & Inventory : Niraanjana Sunathan
·       Head of Presentation & Inventory : Chong Soo Sun
·       Head of Video Presentation &  Inventory : Nur Syafiqah

Angela is in charge of our club’s blog while Eishatur makes sure that all the minutes are typed, printed and filed. Ili closes the accounts every month and makes sure that it is balanced. She also makes our Facebook page as active as possible. Photos of events will be taken by Elsa before she uploads them to the online scrapbook.

Niraanjana handles everything to do with design, from designing the bottle wrapper of our bio enzyme to making flyers for our club to promote any upcoming events or campaigns. Soo Sun is in charge of making any Powerpoint presentation our club requires for a campaign or a judging. Last but not least, Syafiqah is in charge of making videos for our club to be shown during the launch of a campaign or event.

Every one of them updates their work weekly and constantly makes sure everything they are in charge of is in tip top condition. I will guide them through the tasks they are assigned, with the help of the project manager, Nur Farhanah. I will then check their work to see if they completed their tasks by the deadlines specified, and ensure that the club’s documentation is of good, consistent quality.
